Wedding at Salvage One in Chicago | Anna + Will

Anna and Will’s wedding day at Salvage One in Chicago is one of the coolest I’ve had the chance to photograph. Part of that is due to just how incredible Salvage One is as a wedding venue, but the other part is with how special of a couple Anna and Will are. These two fell in love back in highschool and have grown together as a couple to the amazing people they are today. They’re an incredibly fun, goofy, and caring couple, so documenting their wedding day was SUCH a pleasure!

Getting Ready

Anna and Will took their time getting ready separately at their hotel on Michigan Avenue with their wedding parties. Once ready the guys hung out and took some photos looking over the Chicago River before heading to the church. Anna and Will chose not to have a first look on their wedding day as they were super excited to have that wow moment in the church! This was actually a wonderful idea as it can be difficult to make a first look work in the fall due to the unpredictability of the weather. Next up was their ceremony in a Chicago church before heading to Salvage One for their reception!

Chicago Church Ceremony

The setting of the church for their ceremony was perfect and beautiful. There was so much joy between Anna, Will, and the guests in attendance, it felt like everyone was smiling for the entire wedding day! After their ceremony we had some time for couples portraits before making our way to Salvage One for their wedding reception. We chose to use the time we had left with the natural light to take some more couples portraits and wedding party photos outside of Salvage One before finishing those indoors.

Wedding Reception at Salvage One Chicago

I absolutely adore Salvage One as a wedding venue in Chicago. There’s SO much character here. Between its stunning interior filled with salvaged décor, the sheer amount of space, and variety of backdrops for portraits, there’s a lot to love. The décor of the venue is great for a couple reasons, being that it keeps your guests visually intrigued and it means you don’t have to go all out on decorating the space. Even though Anna and Will got ready and had their ceremony elsewhere, Salvage One does offer spaces for both parties to get ready as well as multiple ceremony spaces, so you can have your full wedding day here! For Anna and Will though, Salvage One was all about the celebration. They had so much fun, singing, dancing, and partying with all of their favorite people in this incredibly cool and unique space!
