Wedding at The Morton Arboretum | Catalina + Alex

Catalina and Alex’s wedding at The Morton Arboretum is Lisle, Illinois was an incredible and romantic experience from start to finish. These two are literal high school sweethearts, so documenting this day that they created together and dreamt of for so long was an honestly magical experience.

Getting Ready and a First Look

Both Catalina and Alex are BIG on family, so to start their wedding day they took their time getting ready with their loved ones. This was so much fun for the two of them and the perfect way to get all hyped up for their wedding day. Catalina had custom Converse shoes with her and Alex’s wedding date embroidered on them. She wore these along with her 2nd wedding dress for their reception which was SO cool!

Catalina and Alex wanted to do a first look on their wedding day, so we decided to head deep into The Morton Arboretum to do just that! The first look took place on a pathway surrounded by the massive trees of the arboretum towering overhead. It created such a surreal and dramatic setting that I am in LOVE with. After their first look Catalina and Alex took some time to read their private vows to one another before their ceremony.

Wedding Ceremony in The Morton Arboretum

For their wedding ceremony, Catalina and Alex chose to have it outdoors in The Morton Arboretum’s Grand Garden. The Grand Garden lives up to its name as it’s one of the most stunning and picturesque outdoor ceremony spaces I’ve photographed so far. Catalina and Alex’s loved ones were all there to support and celebrate the incredible connection these two share between one another. We had some time after their ceremony for some portraits using the beautiful grounds of The Morton Arboretum before it was time for their reception.

Reception in the Ginkgo Room

Catalina and Alex’s reception took place in the magnificent and spacious Ginkgo Room of The Morton Arboretum. The space features glass windows overlooking the lake, a large dance floor that was packed for Catalina and Alex’s entire reception, and delicious food courtesy of the arboretum. Prior to their reception, Catalina, Alex, and I spent some time in the maze of The Morton Arboretum where we captured some exceptional newlywed portraits. These two and their guests had SO much fun dancing the rest of the night away!

Capturing and documenting Catalina and Alex’s wedding day at the Morton Arboretum was so much fun! These two are so sweet, so passionate, and so joyous, it made their day a treat from start to finish.
