Geneva Golf Course Wedding | Sam + Andrew

Sam and Andrews golf course wedding in Geneva was so special to me. These two were the first couple to book me to photograph their wedding about a year before cov*d hit the US. When it hit, Sam and Andrew weren’t sure what was going to happen, but we kept our hopes high and made sure that we were prepared for anything.

Their wedding day, though because of the vid, was an extremely challenging day to plan, was perfect in seriously every day. I’m obsessed with these two and their day and I am SO excited to share this album with you!

Sam and Andrew got ready in separate rooms in their St. Charles hotel. Bouncing back and forth between their rooms as they got ready was so much fun. There were so many parallels watching them get ready with their wedding parties and families. Whether it was opening gifts, or their family helping them get ready, their day was so in sync.

Wedding Party Photos

Because their Geneva wedding was in the fall sunset was fairly early. When I have wedding days with an early sunset time and no first look, I always want to make sure I take some wedding party photos prior to the ceremony. I do this in case the ceremony goes long. Having some of the wedding party photos done gives couples options after their ceremony is over.

For Sam and Andrews wedding day we photographed their wedding party then headed over to the Geneva golf course for the rest of their wedding day.

Geneva Golf Course Wedding

Yes, there are the traditional moments of a wedding ceremony that everyone expects to see documented. Those little moments though. The way your mom holds her boyfriend’s hand as you walk down the aisle. The way the mother of the groom tears up seeing the future wife of her son walk down the aisle. These moments on a wedding day are just as important as the big moments of a wedding day.

Portraits on the Golf Course

After their ceremony, we had a limited amount of time before the sunset. We went outside to celebrate the newly weds and documented some of the moments with their entire wedding party. After wedding party photos we wandered around the golf course until sunset taking some newlywed portraits.

Their Reception

Sam and Andrews wedding reception was actually lit. Everyone and I mean everyone celebrated these two like there was no tomorrow. Toasts were made, hugs were plenty and we danced SO HARD throughout the night. Seeing these two’s families blend together and celebrate Sam and Andrew was such a fun experience. This aspect of a wedding day has by far become my favorite part.
