Grant booked this Chicago anniversary session for Brie as a surprise to document a little bit of their relationship. They’re two of the most stylish and unique people I know, so I knew their couples anniversary session in Chicago was going to be one of a kind! Brie and I have been close friends for years now, so being able to capture her and Grant’s love for one another was truly amazing.

For the start of Brie and Grant’s anniversary couples session we headed out to the beach near the Chevron Sculpture as that’s a favorite spot of theirs for picnics with their pup Bernie. For their first outfit they wore white and red jumpsuits which instantly brought their epic style to the forefront of the session. Brie is an immensely talented painter (seriously check out her work!), and so we incorporated some paint into the start of their session to capture that part of her life. These photos turned out SO fun and unique, I seriously cannot get over them! The two then changed into more casual outfits before we headed back towards their neighborhood in Chicago for the rest of their session.

For the remainder of Brie and Grant’s couples anniversary session we spent some time walking around their neighborhood in Chicago with their pup Bernie tagging along. Both Brie and Grant love to thrift and it has heavily influenced their wardrobes. For this next portion of their session we went a little more formal with the outfits, and Brie’s blue dress was actually a birthday gift from Grant during the first year of their relationship. It’s details like this, the paint from before, and the important locations in Brie and Grant’s lives that made their couples session so special and unique to them.

Brie and Grant’s couples session in Chicago to celebrate their anniversary still remains as one of my favorite sessions to date!
