Wheaton Senior Sunrise Session | Claire Class of 2019

Claire was one of the first Seniors I ever had the honor to photograph. Almost exactly three years ago today Claire, who happens to be my cousin, and I ventured out for a sunrise session to celebrate her senior year at Wheaton Warrenville South. Prior to the session we set up a call and talked about the things she loves about her life as a senior in high school.

She told me about how she loved sports and being a part of a team at school. Claire participated in track and field as well as cheer and told me that she was going to miss going to Friday night football games. She loved spending time at home with her pups and also spent a lot of time at Blackwell Forest Preserve with her best friends. With that, we put together a senior session that reflected all of her favorite things and some of her favorite places in the Wheaton area.

Wheaton Warrenville South High School

We started off her sunrise senior session at Wheaton Warrenville South High School. When my seniors want to include their high school in their photo session I always suggest having it in the morning. There are typically significantly fewer games and practices that occur at sunrise, thus we have the whole space all to ourselves. We took some photos around the track, in the bleachers, and then Claire showed off some of her tumbling skills and her new workout outfit.

Blackwell Forest Preserve

After taking photos at Wheaton Warrenville South, we headed over to her favorite spot at Blackwell Forest Preserve to take some more senior photos. We pulled about halfway into the MASSIVE forest preserve near part of the lake and wandered through the forest she spent so much of her time in. Claire wanted to choose a more formal outfit for our time at the Forest Preserve that she and her mom picked out together. I love that she wore her hair naturally with her more formal look.

Her Home

Last but not least, Claire wanted to head home for the last part of her senior session. Rocking some of her Iowa gear we hung out in her front yard taking photos with their Iowa flag on their gorgeous front porch. After we took some photos in the front yard we headed out back to spend time with her pups and wander around her backyard.

I LOVE incorporating seniors’ homes in their senior sessions. Not only is it much easier to include family and pets in a couple of photos when you take them at home, but it also preserves so many memories. So many families move or downsize their homes after their kids go to college so having some documented memories in your home is special for any senior. If you’re looking to book a senior session of your own head to my senior contact page and let’s get to planning!
